A Trip to the Circus

The circus was in town this weekend so handy husband and I decided to invite the nephews down for a fun filled day.

Of course when everyone first arrived Mahlon and the boys did spend the better of an hour shooting Nerf guns at each other :). After Nerf wars and a lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant we were off to the circus.

The boys enjoyed snowcones,

Cotton Candy,
and watched in amazement as the lions, camels, acrobats, jugglers and elephants performed in the ring.

Afterwards when we asked the boys what their favorite part of the circus was they responded with " when the clown was supposed to be sweeping the floor and he got in trouble for dancing!!!" I of course do not have a picture of this because I am not very fond of clowns :)

Hammer, Nails and a little hot glue

Last weekend before Mahlon's nephews came to visit we did spend a little time planning activities to keep the boys entertained!! Amongst our planning I came across this really cool wood working kit- which is right up handy husbands alley :). The kit came with all the pieces, hardware and paint to build and decorate 6 small wooden projects. Which worked out well because we had 3 boys- 2 projects each :)The boys (and Mahlon) LOVED the kit!

Although the nails didn't work as well as we would have liked it wasn't anything a little hot glue couldn't fix! :)

In a couple of hours we had everything ranging from a bird house to a tank- and everyone had a blast!!

The Band Perry

I have come to love the up and coming country band The Band Perry. When I found out that they were coming to Bowling Green (back in December) I knew I just had to go! I like a lot of their songs but my all time favorite song is If I Die Young and when they performed this song at the concert I HAD to record at least part of it :)

Super Sandwich Shop

Being as today was yet another snow day, I though I would be productive and go to the gym this morning. While I was there I did happen to see many other teachers as well so I would have to go ahead and say that snow days are good for a teachers health and wellness :). Even though it was only 10:30 when I left the gym I did realize that I was rather hungry- which makes sense because on a normal week day I would eat lunch around 10:40. On my way out of the gym I happened to look down the strip of stores beside the gym and saw Griff's Deli. I though to myself " Hmmm I bet that would be good!" And good it was! They have a very tasty chicken salad sandwich and house salad! Whoever decided to put a sandwich shop in right beside the gym was a total genius! I bet they make a fortune!
