Dinner Surprise

Last night Mahlon and I decided that the best way to kick off our Christmas vacation together was to enjoy one of our favorite dinners....
Sushi! And lots of it!
What we didn't know when we headed out for dinner was
1. It was 1/2 price sushi night at Shogun!
2. Some kind stranger would leave $20 tucked in our car door.
Yes, that is what you just read.
$20, randomly tucked into the passenger side door, right beside the handle.
What an awesome surprise!
We have no idea who this person was.
We looked around the parking lot for familiar cars, and tried to remember if there was anyone inside that we recognized, but no luck.
So, to the kind stranger filled with the Christmas spirit- a big Thank You.

And if you thought I was going to end this blog post without pictures of Harrison, well guess again!
Although he is too little to eat sushi just yet, he did pose for a quick picture!
Gotta start 'em young!
No picky eaters in this household! :)

"What's That" Wednesday!

Hey Mom!
 What's that!

Those things on the end of my legs?
 Ahh! They move!

I don't think I like them!
Please re-situate me so that I can no longer see them :)

Heads Up!

News Flash!
Harrison will FINALLY lay on his stomach and hold his head up!

For the longest time he has been protesting tummy time!

And by protesting I mean burying his head in the play mat and screaming until we pick him up :)

But today, he had a great time playing on his tummy!
Let's hope this continues!

Single Handed

Since Harrison has arrived, there are many things that I have learned to do with only one hand :) Some are simple, but others (I think) are pretty impressive! I thought I'd make a top 10 list for my own entertainment. Feel free to add you own "single handed" skills :)

1. Type- as I am doing now :)

2. Cook/bake. Nothing too fancy, but I have mastered the art of single handed chocolate chip cookies. '

3. This is my favorite- Washing my hands. Yes, it goes a little like this: Turn on water, pump soap into one hand, rub fingers against hand, rinse, swap baby to other arm and repeat!

4. Laundry. This isn't that impressive, no one really needs 2 hands for this :)

5. Feed the dog. Open the door- pick up the scoop- scoop the food and pour. Not to hard.

6. Decorate the Christmas Tree! More of a challenge due to the ribbon that hangs the ornaments from the limbs :)

7. Apply make up. I'd give this a score of a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 :)

8. Load the dish washer. Only pots and pans become a challenge :) Plates, bowls, silverware, and cups are a breeze.

9. Address Christmas cards. Difficult because Harrison likes to squirm which makes my handwriting a little hard to read.

10. Make sweet tea ;) If you have spent much time around our house, you know this is a must have!

I guess that's it for now.

I'm sure there are more single handed skills to be discovered :)
