Neither.

I've been trying to decided.
Decide between two of my favorite hobbies.
Running and photography.
I'll elaborate :)
10 weeks ago I signed up for a 5K race that was taking place this morning.
2 weeks ago I discovered photography classes were being offered by MckMama ( a photographer and blogger I like to follow) in Nashville today.
I was faced with a choice.
And I chose neither.
Why?
A few reasons.
1. I've become slightly lazy. :)
2. I was going to have to take Harrison with me to either of the two events.
3. As I'm blogging now, at 8:30 AM, my sweet little Harrison is still snoozing away. NEVER wake a sleeping baby :)
4. This is the first weekend in 5, maybe 6 ( I've lost count) weeks that Mahlon has not had to work ( besides wrapping up a few loose ends this morning) ALL weekend and I wanted to be home. Home with my little family.
So I chose neither.
Maybe next time.

Friday's Top 5

Since March is drawing to a close, I thought I'd share my Top 5 Mommy Must Haves for this month.
In no order whatsoever,
5) Baby Mum Mums!

Harrison LOVES these little rice biscuits! They basically dissolve in his mouth so there isn't any chewing involved but is a great first step toward self feeding!
4) A Jumperoo!

If only I had a way to keep track of the miles that have probably been traveled in this genius invention!
3) Nuk Spoons.

Yes, I am replacing my must have munchkin spoons with these must have Nuk Spoons! (Don't worry, they still come in bright colors!)These things are genius as well. They are flat on the end which helps the food slide off in baby's mouth and also works as a great spatula to scrape the food off their face and back in their mouth with ;)
2) An outdoor swing.

We do not have an outdoor swing of our own for Harrison yet, but he LOVES the swings at the park and I do believe I see the Easter Bunny bouncing this way with one for our back yard!
1) Books!

We love books in this house! I love to read to Harrison at nights, and  I also love listening to Mahlon read to him from the other room- he always adds words and pages to the story that are totally not there! It's pretty funny. Harrison gets very excited listening to us read.... although he often times tries to eat the book during story time ;)

Mum Mums

Being a new mom, I have been very lucky to have friends who have babies close to the same age as Harrison! A few days ago, a couple of girls I went to high school with asked if I had let Harrison try Mum Mums yet. I was stumped, I had no idea what these things were so I headed on over to trusty Google and did a little research ;)
After reading up on what they were, the ingredients, and the reaction my friends children have had to these nifty biscuit type things we decided to give them a try.
I handed Harrison the Mum Mum and before I could turn the camera on he already had it in his mouth!

First bite, success!

He means business!

After about 5 minutes, this was all that was left!
I think it's safe to say that he likes them!
Thanks for the suggestion girls!

Fort!

Mahlon and Harrison played in their first fort this weekend! As you can see below, Harrison was much more interested in the Nerf gun than the fort!

Speaking of this weekend, we also had family pictures taken and started the VERY large project of re-doing our landscaping around the house. Shew!

Mommy's Little Musician

Harrison LOVES any toy that makes noise! If whatever he is playing with does not make noise on its own, he will find a way to make it make noise!
When I saw this little drum set in the store this past weekend, I just knew he would love it!

And he did!

Shake!

Rattle!

Thump, thump, thump!
I see some type of music lessons in this little guys future!
Thanks for the early Easter present, Nana!

Visiting the Park

This morning was such a beautiful morning.
I thought it would be a perfect day for Harrison's first trip to the park!
When we first got to the park we spent a few minutes strolling around checking out all the other kids.
The first thing on our list of things to check out was the swing!
He LOVED it!

Wee!

Next we took a break from the playground and checked out those funny yellow things growing in the grass!
The mulch was also a must see
And, back to the swings to finish up the visit!

All together, it was a great first trip to the park!
Even if he wouldn't smile at the camera for the nice lady whose child was also swinging on the swings and offered to take our picture together!

There's a Bear in my Chair!

This month was the first time Harrison realized there was a bear in the rocking chair with him during his 6 month photo shoot ;)
His reaction was hilarious!
See for yourself!

Attack the bear!

Sitting Up!

Harrison had been trying to sit up on his own for a few days before his 6 month birthday. He was doing pretty good, sitting for about 30 seconds at a time before toppling over. The day after he turned 6 months old, he decided it was time to be a sitting up champ!
"I can do it!"

 "Hi, Mom!"
If you are wondering what he is sitting on, it's the mattress from our futon ;)
I feel much more comfortable letting him sit up by himself, reach for toys, learn how to keep his balance and fall over on the mattress as opposed to our hardwood living room floors!
Since this day, Harrison has become a regular "sitter upper" ;)
He will sit up alone for minutes at a time, until something behind him catches his attention and he tries to turn around to see what it is- then he always falls over!

What happened to my little 7 pound baby I brought home only 6 short months ago????
*Sigh*
I suppose the next big boy skill to master will be crawling, and he seems to have no interest in that at all so I think we are safe for at least another month ;)
