About a month ago my handy husband and I decided that it was time for us to get plugged in to a small group from church. For those of you who are not quite sure what a small group is, that's ok- we weren't sure either! We have however got that part figured out. A small group is basically a group of people who meet outside of church to learn more about the word of God and fellowship together. Everyone in the group is usually close to the same age and stage in their life- for example we are in a couples age 20-30 small group. To be honest, I was very anxious about joining a small group. I was worried that we wouldn't have anything in common with the other couples in the group, that we might not connect well or that we might be looked at as outsiders since we were the only new members to the group. However, all these worries were put to rest after our first encounter with our new group last Wednesday. We felt very welcomed and were relieved to find out that Mahlon and I both knew someone that was already a member of the group.
Our small group is currently doing a study on the book
When Sinners Say "I Do".This weeks chapter was on forgiveness and how we as Christians should strive to fully forgive others of their sins against us the same as God has forgiven us of our sins against Him. I am really looking forward to meeting with everyone again tonight and actually being able to contribute to the discussion :)
