Japanese Steakhouse White Sauce :)

Mahlon and I LOVE Japanese food and I have always wanted to make my own white sauce like they serve with the foods at Japanese steakhouses so tonight I gave it a shot! I searched the internet for a recipe and came across "Chuck's easy recipe for Japanese Steakhouse white sauce". Here is everything you will need:

1-1/4 cup

Hellmann's mayonnaise *

1/4 cup

water

1 teaspoon

tomato paste

1 tablespoon

melted butter

1/2 teaspoon

garlic powder

1 teaspoon

sugar

1/4 teaspoon

paprika

dash

cayenne pepper

Using a fork or a whisk, blend all ingredients together thoroughly until well mixed and the sauce is smooth. Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to blend. Bring to room temperature before serving.

And it was DELICIOUS!

As I was busy making the yummy white sauce, Handy Husband was busy slaving away making fried rice :)

Isn't he sweet :)

Just in case you would like to know how to make this as well I thought I'd include the recipe

Fried Rice Recipe

1 cup of white rice

¼ cup of frozen mixed veggies ( peas, corn, carrots)

Soy sauce

1 tbsp butter

Salt and pepper

2 eggs

Directions:

In a medium sauce pan bring 1 cup of water to a boil.

Add rice and frozen vegetables.

Cover, reduce heat and let stand for 5 minutes.

On a griddle scramble 2 eggs.

Add rice and vegetable mixture to the griddle.

Mix butter, salt, pepper & soy sauce into rice until well blended.

Cook for 5 minutes.

We really guessed on the measurements for the soy sauce,

butter and veggies.

We just added until it looked and tasted about right :)

Overall it was a very yummy meal!!
