This year, I thought I'd try a new way of dying Easter eggs.
Instead of using the typical egg dying kit, I decided to use Kool-Aid!
(No, I am not this inventive on my own- I found this idea on Pinterest.)
Here's how:
1. Boil eggs as usual
2. Combine one package of Kool-Aid mix with 3/4 cups of warm water.
3. Stir mixture
4. Dip eggs in mixture, let sit for 3 to 4 minutes.
I also tried a new way of dipping the eggs this year. Since I was doing this activity with 21 Kindergarten students, I decided to use 2 large muffin tins to dip the eggs in.
This way, everyone could dip their egg at the same time! The kids told me what color egg they wanted, I mixed the color, poured the mixture into the tin and they placed their egg in! Simple as pie!
This how they turned out!
I would recommend every color except purple. The grape Kool-Aid turned the eggs more of a black color than purple. My two favorite colors came from the Cherry and Lime Kool-Aid packets. Both colors were very vibraint!
I will use this method of dying eggs from now on!
